Which dice should I pick?
Most board games (Ludo, Monopoly-style games, Snakes and Ladders) use one or two D6. Tabletop RPGs like Dungeons & Dragons use the full set: a D20 for attacks and checks, D4–D12 for damage, and D100 (percentile) for random tables.

How the randomness works
Browsers' Math.random() is fine for animations but not designed for fairness. This roller uses crypto.getRandomValues and discards the few values that would make low faces slightly more likely (rejection sampling). That's the same approach used by password generators — overkill for a board game, but it means no face is favoured.

Is this online dice roller really random?
Yes. Each die uses your browser's cryptographic random generator (crypto.getRandomValues) with rejection sampling, so every face has exactly the same chance. Nothing is sent to a server.
How many dice can I roll at once?
Up to 12 dice per roll, all the same type: D4, D6, D8, D10, D12, D20 or D100. You can add a modifier from −20 to +20, like a D&D ability bonus.
Can I roll dice without internet?
This page needs to load once. For rolling anywhere offline, the free Game Night Android app has the same roller plus roll history, a home-screen widget and a Quick Settings tile.
What does 2d6+3 mean?
Roll two six-sided dice and add 3 to the total. Set Dice to 2, Type to D6 and Modifier to +3 above, then press Roll.
